Every year at Christmas in the South Tyrolean families are set up again the traditional wooden cribs.
The crib is the Christmas story of Jesus, narrated by the evangelists Matthew and Luke, a tradition that dates back to ancient Christianity. At that time the baby Jesus in the manger was placed alone in the barn, next to the ox and the donkey. The figure of Mary has appeared in the Middle Ages, that of Joseph later and the other characters, such as the Three Kings, after a long time.
Nowadays the best cribs are constituted not only by the traditional figures, but also by a number of shepherds, sheep and other farm animals. We offer to the collectors of DOLFI numerous nativity scenes designed in different styles, all carved by hand in European noble woods. Even all crib accessories have been carefully designed and developed by our experienced sculptors. The huts, the angels, each animal and the different figures, including Joseph, Mary and the infant Jesus, inspire and capture the passionate collectors from around the world.
Our cribs and crib accessories are available in different sizes and, on request, also outsized and custom personalized. To choose just browse our extensive catalog.
